About

I am a linguist, and teach academic English and Linguistics. My main research interest is academic writing, especially evaluative language and the ideas about “voice” in tertiary academic discourse. My research studies draw upon systemic functional linguistics, and my specific theoretical interest is Appraisal, the system of interpersonal meaning in discourse semantics. I hope to share my love for language research, teaching and learning through this blog!
